Worldwide News Network Launches with NewsCloud

NEW YORK – Red Apple Audio Networks’ new Worldwide News Network (WWNN) launched on Saturday May 23 using the NewsCloud platform, developed by Radio.Cloud.

“Given our very aggressive deployment timeline, NewsCloud was the best choice for launching the Worldwide News Network,” stated Lee Harris, Vice President News, Worldwide News Network and WABC Radio.  It has been super customized for our operation and will allow us to provide a level of service to affiliates that no other network has ever been able to provide. Our new staff was able to master NewsCloud very quickly,” he added.

NewsCloud is a modern newsroom tool that drives much more productivity and efficiency than previously possible. The technology also enables more traditional live newscast distribution using its NewsCloud Player, and connects different wires and sources using the supplemental NewsCloud Editorial interface.

“For us, this is an exciting milestone,” Radio.Cloud CEO and Founder Christian Brenner said. “While Radio.Cloud has supported hundreds of affiliates across the United States with cloud-native radio automation for many years, this marks the North American debut of NewsCloud, our newsroom platform. NewsCloud brings the entire newsroom workflow into one unified platform, replacing the many separate tools traditionally used for news production and enabling broadcasters to produce, localize, manage, and distribute news content faster and more efficiently.”

The Worldwide News Network is the latest venture from Red Apple Audio Networks, created to deliver fair, balanced, real-time reporting, 24 hours a day to listeners across the United States and around the world. Designed for today’s nonstop news cycle, WWNN distributes top and bottom of the hour fact-based news reports, giving affiliate stations the speed, credibility, and authority their audiences demand.

“We needed a next generation newsroom system to run the Worldwide News Network from wherever news is happening,” said Chad Lopez, President Red Apple Media and WABC Radio.  “NewsCloud’s cloud-based architecture allowed us to deploy our network in record time and will enable us to provide a level of customization for affiliates that no other network has even been able to deliver.”

“NewsCloud is already successfully on the air with three national networks in Germany and Austria, helping win new affiliates and significantly improve efficiency through our unique approach to turning national news content into hyper-localized newscast output,” Brenner added.
